Celebrating World Vegan Day

Monday the 1st of November marks World Vegan Day. A time to recognise the vegan movement and celebrate and support the vegan community.

World Vegan Day was founded by Louise Wallis in 1994, which was the 50th anniversary of The Vegan Society which she chaired. The terms “vegan” and “veganism” also emerged around the time The Vegan Society formed.

“Veganism is a philosophy and way of living which seeks to exclude—as far as is possible and practicable—all forms of exploitation of, and cruelty to, animals for food, clothing or any other purpose; and by extension, promotes the development and use of animal-free alternatives for the benefit of animals, humans and the environment. In dietary terms it denotes the practice of dispensing with all products derived wholly or partly from animals.” ~ Vegan Society

Whether you are living a vegan lifestyle for preventing the exploitation of animals, for health benefits or for environmental reasons, choosing a plant-based lifestyle can extend beyond what’s on our dinner plates, by influencing the products that we use including hair and beauty.

At Haircare Group we respect this choice no matter the reasons and are here to provide you and your clients with everything you need to best support the needs of your salon and your clients.
